Casey Jefferson, a Bloomington-Normal native, graduated from Normal West High School in 2014. Jefferson was a three-year starting shortstop for the Wildcats and was also heavily involved with the local BNGSA travel organization. In 2014, Jefferson continued her playing career at Heartland Community College where she was a utility player for the Hawks. Jefferson led the Hawks to back-to-back conference championships in both 2015 and 2016. Jefferson was named a team captain her sophomore year at Heartland and also helped lead the Hawks to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in 2016. That same year, Jefferson batted .351 with 9 home runs, 50 runs batted in, and a slugging percentage of .603.

After her playing career, she continued her work with the Heartland Community College softball program as the first Assistant Coach. Jefferson is currently the primary offensive and defensive coordinator. Jefferson led the Hawks to an overall record of 34-16 in 2018 while winning another conference championship. Jefferson graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors from Illinois State University with a degree in Recreation and Park Administration in 2018. Jefferson will continue her education at Illinois State University in the Sports Management graduate program. The young, yet knowledgeable coach has coaching experience at junior high, high school, and junior collegiate levels.
